The Northshore Home Builders Association (NHBA) was established in 2015 through the merger of the former St. Tammany Home Builders Association and the Tangipahoa Home Builders Association. These two organizations, chartered in 1977 and 1979 respectively, now form the third-largest HBA in Louisiana, boasting over 800 members, including builders and professionals directly connected with the home building industry.
The NHBA is dedicated to supporting its members through various initiatives, including offering continuing education classes that keep builders informed about best practices and updates to International Codes. By collaborating closely with local government and building officials, the NHBA plays a significant role in code development and strives to reduce unnecessary regulations that impact the home building process.
Through the NHBA Charitable Trust, the association contributes to local non-profits that support causes affecting our quality of life. Over the years, recipients of these donations have included Hospice House, Habitat for Humanity, Our Daily Bread, Child Advocacy Services – Tangipahoa and St. Tammany, and the Northshore Food Bank.
The NHBA is also proud to participate in the first-ever Louisiana Statewide Parade of Homes Tour, allowing visitors to explore the latest trends in home building and interior design from the comfort of their own homes. Each tour visitor will have access to information about masterful builders and is encouraged to reach out to discuss their home building plans and dreams.
