Custom Home Building

A dream home is not one size fits all.

At Jenkins Homes, we’re anything but cookie-cutter. Building a custom home is a process that can require upwards of 500 decisions, from foundation to fixtures……And we’ll be there every step of the way. We speak to our clients multiple times a day, and are committed to being on the job site to oversee construction daily. A dream home is a collaborative effort, and it would be our honor to help you create yours.

STEP 1

Like anything done well, preparation is key. It’s imperative to speak to a mortgage lender and receive a preapproval letter before our meeting, so that we can be sure to stay on budget during our consultation. Don’t know a mortgage lender? We know and work with great lenders who can assist you in establishing your budget. If you need a referral or once you receive your pre-approval letter, call our office in Mandeville at (985) 624-8757 to schedule an appointment.

STEP 2

Here’s the fun part of your journey to homeownership: the design and build process! We'll work closely with you to create a floor plan that fits your needs and budget. While we’re fine-tuning the layout, we’ll also help you find the perfect lot for your new home. Once you've found the right spot and the plans are finalized, we'll move on to signing a Purchase Agreement, so we can officially get started on building. At this point, an initial deposit is needed to kick off the design and estimating process. After that, we’ll dive into finalizing the plans and picking out selections to determine the contract price.

You’ll get a list of suppliers and allowances to help us bring your dream home to life. From choosing exterior details like brick, stucco, and siding; to selecting interior finishes like paint colors, flooring, and appliances; to adding special features like additional storage, this process ensures your home will be completely unique to you.

STEP 3

The final step in your journey to homeownership is the most exciting—moving into your brand-new home! Once everything is complete and a closing date is set, we’ll do a final walk-through together. This is a chance for us to show you around and answer any questions you might have. From the day you move in, we're here to make sure your home stays in great shape for years to come. Jenkins Homes, LLC offers a one-year warranty on workmanship, two years on plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems, and five years on your home's slab and structure.
